Bloomberg is gone. The US Supreme Court struck down the anti-prostitution pledge for PEPFAR funding. The Canadian Supreme Court has decriminalized the sex trades. No Condoms as Evidence Bill passed in the New York State Assembly. But there is more work to be done!
Our Advocacy In Action Workshop is a FREE five-week long advocacy course for individuals who want to take their social justice work to the next level and brainstorm with other activists to take action on issues that impact people in the sex trades. The workshop is led by Red Umbrella Project team members and activist colleagues. Workshop participants will have the opportunity to meet and talk with experienced advocates both from organizations working with those in the sex trades and other important social justice groups.
We will discuss: getting strategic and targeting the right audience, using media to do advocacy campaigns, city and state legislative advocacy, making change on the federal level, and the UN and international advocacy.
