From the Commercial Appeal:
”A former Memphis police officer was sentenced Tuesday to 12 months and one day in jail on charges of taking a woman across state lines for prostitution…In a letter filed with the court, the officer’s father said his son is a good family man who is sorry for his actions — taking two women to Tunica to dance at a party, not to engage in prostitution.”
Pandering and state line laws allow for the arrest of people for almost any sort of interaction with a prostitute: taking two women to dance at a party is reason enough to throw this man in jail for a year.
