On the 12th annual International Day to End Violence Against Sex Workers, we seek to come together to honor those who we have lost this year, and renew our commitment in the on-going struggle for empowerment, visibility, and human rights for all sex workers.
This event centers on healing and self-care in recognition that so many in our community who are dis/abled and chronically ill are excluded from ableist actions, spaces and events.
Too often, violence against sex workers is also violence against trans women, women of color, drug users, and immigrants. Trans Women of Color are disproportionately impacted by state sanctioned violence. In the past 6 months, 12 TWOC were brutally murdered in this country.
It is imperative that we create braver spaces centering the narratives of our most vulnerable. We cannot end the marginalization and victimization of all sex workers without also fighting white supremacy, transphobia, racism, albeism, stigma and criminalization of drug use, and xenophobia.

En el 12mo aniversario del Dia Internacional Para El Fin de la Violencia En Contra de Lxs Sexo Servidorxs, queremos unirnos para recordar a todos aquellxs a lxs que hemos perdido este ano, y para renovar nuestro compromiso en la lucha diaria para el fortalecimiento, la visibilidad, y los derechos humanos para todxs lxs sexoservidorxs.
Este evento se centra en sanación y cuidado personal en reconocimiento de los muchxs en nuestra comunidad que son deshabilitadxs y están crónicamente enfermos y son excluidos de espacios y eventos sin contemplación de sus limitaciones.
A menudo, la violencia en contra de lxs sexoservidorxs también es violencia en contra de trans mujeres, mujeres de color, personas que usan drogas, e inmigrantes. Mujeres transgenero de color son impactadas desproporcionadamente por violencia sancionada por el estado. En los psados 6 meses, 12 mujeres transgenero de color fueron asesinadas brutalmente en este país.
Es imperativo que creemos fuertes espacios que se centren en la narrativa de nuestros mas vulnerables. No podemos terminar la marginalización y victimización de todxs lxs sexoservidorxs sin también luchar en contra de la transfobia, el racismo, el estigma y la criminalización del uso de drogas, y la xenofobia.
